However, we bet that you will agree with at least 60 to 80% of our choices, as these series marked their era.

10. Malcolm
Among all the series in this Top 10, we couldn’t forget Malcolm! This is not the first series we think of when we talk about a top of the best series. And yet, who doesn’t know Malcolm? Who hasn’t laughed at least once an episode at the setbacks of this family like no other?
As a reminder, this series tells the adventures of Malcolm, a young genius, who has 3 brothers (at the beginning…) all crazier and funny than the others, but also very… special parents, a better – my friend who speaks it softly and a totally awesome universe.
It seems that Bryan Cranston (Hal) would like to reassemble the team for new adventures. Personally, we are ready to participate in the production!

9. Lost
I can already see you blinking. Remember that this series completely revolutionized the genre. A true social phenomenon during the first seasons, the story tells of the (bad) luck of survivors who must survive following the crash of their plane.
Like Koh Lanta, they must survive on an island, left to their own devices. Except that the jungle has many torments in store for them.
If you’ve seen the whole series, we can understand your blinking, that’s why the series is only in 9th position. If you still haven’t started watching this series, go ahead, the first few seasons are great.
Finally, we will still remember that it is the no less excellent J.J. Abrams who wrote and partly directed this series

8. Six Feet Under
Led, among others, by a brilliant Michael C. Hall (whom we will find a little later in our ranking), this series tells the life of a family at the head of a funeral company.
Set in Los Angeles, this series highlights the subject of succession, family ties, personal problems within a group and offers us exceptional episodes.
Haven’t watched this series yet? Funny, but also very touching, each episode will begin in the same way (we won’t tell you more) and will take you into a world little explored in cinema. Nothing to complain about, it has its place among the best series 🙂

7. Black Mirror
Some series are unlike any other. This is the case with Black Mirror. There are no links between the episodes, apart from the plot which always remains the same: the dependence of men on screens.
Through the episodes, which are extremely well put together, and which, very often, will make you think, the series aims to be impactful, and based on current events, or which are likely to occur in the near future.
All we can tell you is that some predictions seen in the series happened in our real world. Scary? Yes, somewhat.

6. Dexter
Tortured, endearing, intelligent, not sociable, we could find a ton of adjectives, sometimes contradictory, to talk about Dexter.
Dexter is a specialist (the best) in hematology, who works in Miami, in a great living environment, has a quiet life. Well, that’s what he wants to show… At night, he gives way to his murderous impulses by going to kill all the criminals in the city.
Obviously, everything never goes as planned, and a LOT will happen in 8 seasons. Certainly too unfortunately. If we only take into account the first 4 seasons, Dexter has its place in our Top 3 best series.

5. True Detective
In 2 seasons, this series has caused a lot of ink to flow. Each season is treated separately, so that they have no links between them.
In the first season, you will follow the investigation of two inspectors in Louisiana. They are both totally different, and must solve the murder of a (sordid) young girl. It’s hard to tell you more if you haven’t watched this series yet.
In the second season, another case disturbs the pseudo calm of two investigators, who will also have to solve a murder like no other.
We warn you right away, it is one of our best series, but it is not to be shown to everyone. It risks making more than one person uncomfortable.

4. The Wire
it’s not necessarily the most well-known series, and yet, it deserves to be watched, if you haven’t already. In France, the series is called “sur eavesdropping” and is about crime in the city of Baltimore. Acclaimed by many critics as being the best series of the 2000s, it follows through several men (police officers, journalists, traffickers, residents, etc.) their daily lives in the city.
There is nothing fictional about this series, it even addresses an aspect that closely touches on the documentary, due to the way in which it was written and produced (with numerous sociologists).
If you’ve never watched it, now’s the time to catch up. You will not be disappointed). A series that has its place in our Top of the best series!

3. The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead is part of our top 10 best series, and it’s well deserved! The first 3 seasons are crazy, with an atmosphere, a story, like we’ve never seen in a series. Taken from the comics, the story tells the journey of Rick, his family and many other people, through a catastrophe about which little is known.
What is certain is that more and more zombies are appearing, and even if they are always a little slow, they arrive when you least expect them.
the series deals, as it progresses, with the evolution of human relationships following a global catastrophe. Who makes it out? How not to get killed? Who wants to create a new community? So many questions that will find answers in this bloody and startling series.

2. Game of Thrones
It’s difficult to describe Games of Thrones in a few words. Come on, if we have to jump in. It’s a mix of stories between the medieval period and a completely invented fantasy period.
You will be able to follow the adventures of several families, who wish to conquer the Iron Throne, emblem of the power of the 7 crowns.
You will come across dragons, very very pale men, knights, women with supernatural powers and other John Snow (ahhhhhh this John Snow…). In short, impossible to tell you anything. You have to watch this series.
In passing, it should be noted that there have been, so far, 174,373 deaths in the series. Yes yes you read correctly.
We preferred to do a Top of the best series to a Top of GOT deaths, but why not do both in the end?

1. Breaking Bad
For this Top 1 of the best series, we are not afraid to cry genius as this series is so successful! The characters are all better than each other. Bryan Cranston, the dad from the series Malcolm, is just stunning. Aaron Paul (Jesse) is both annoying and extremely touching. In short, this series plays with us, and we completely get into the game.
But actually, what is it about? Take a man who has just turned fifty, a chemistry teacher in a small school, but with much greater talent. One day, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) discovers he has cancer.
The time for him to do a retrospective of his life, and to ask himself what he could possibly leave to his wife and his son. Real, really making us think about what we would do, the series takes us on the outbreak of drug trafficking, all orchestrated by this same Walter White, to protect his family.
If there is a series among the 10 that you haven’t seen yet, this one will fascinate you!

As you have seen, most of these series like The Simpsons or Game of Thrones are available in French on paid streaming platforms.
