Top 10 cinema: the biggest Box Office hits

Discover the top 10 greatest hits of the seventh art

You still don’t know who is 2nd in this ranking? Hint: “Jack, jacccckkkkkk”. If you still haven’t found it, we can’t do anything more for you. Discover below the top 10 biggest box office successes (note:
this classification is likely to have evolved since then…)

10th and last: Beauty and the Beast

Surprise)? Okay, it’s clearly not THE film that left its mark on us either, but with Emma Watson in the lead, we could expect it. For movie buffs, remember that it was Bill Condon who directed the film, released in 2017. Do you want more? Come on, we go to 9th in this international ranking.

9th and fresh: Frozen

top10cinema

Does it give you a chill? Come on Michel, let’s stop. 2013 film, Frozen fully deserves to be in our top 10 of greatest cinema hits. For what? First of all because it’s Disney. OK you will tell me, this is not a sufficient argument. No problem. What if I told you that a 2 will be released soon? What do you tell me? Pardon? Ah yes indeed you are going to tell me that the Americans dared to release The Mask 2, an Alien vs Predator and so on. I grant you, another argument: the song. Let anyone who has never heard their daughter, their niece, their neighbor, whatever, sing “liberated, delivered, delivered” raise their hand. Convinced? Still not, come on, let’s try to reconcile you with this top, instead (not top repetition Michel) number 8.

8th: HPELRDLM: Second Part

Have you never seen this movie??? Not great… We obviously want to talk about Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Sorry but it was way too long to write for a title. SO! Let’s spend a few seconds on this film, but not too much Michel, I don’t want Voldemort to come after me. Directed in 2011 (already!) by David Yates, this film saw the death of many characters, including *****, ***********, ****, *** **ah and ************** too.

7th: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Were you expecting a joke? No Michel, we are approaching the top 5, we will have to start being serious. At the moment, we could almost put all the Marvel films in the top20, so much so that Stan Lee’s little protégés are attracting young (and not so young) fans around the world. However, forgive us, but we found this film average. So yes there is Hulk, yes Scarlett Johansson or even Robert Downey Jr are there to remind us that it is bad not to eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day. But this opus, directed by the excellent Joss Whedon, lacks something.

6th: Fast and Furious 7

top10cinema fast and furious7

7 like 7th art. 7 as a lucky number. 7 like 5+2. In short, this film was made to work. Unfortunately, it passed the billion mark in revenue also because of the tragic death of Paul Walker. And there, whether we like Fast & Furious or not, we can only recognize that this actor represented this saga. Fortunately for us, Uncle Vin is still faithful to the post, with more and more cars, testosterone, but less and less hair on the agenda. OK, that one was easy. Come on, let’s continue our top 10 cinema with 5th place (hint, it’s a sequel!)

5th: Avengers (the first)

How good was this film, the first of its kind to bring together all our Marvel superheroes. Fresh, dynamic, funny, many of us were delighted to find Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and all the others coming together to kick the bad guys’ butts. Year of release? 2012. Bim. Oh yes, we were going to forget, for the anecdote, and those who don’t really follow cinema, it was Joss Whedon who directed this film. For those who don’t know him, know that he is the one who directed Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It’s true? And yes Michel.

4th: Jurassic World

Yes, ok, why not. Personally, we can’t say that we didn’t like the film, but it wasn’t great enough to tickle the top 3 of cinema’s biggest hits either. And yet yes! Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film shows us, suspense, people on an island, and…. dinosaurs. As usual, there are some nice ones and some, how shall I put it, not so nice ones. However, if you come across one in the street, let us know.

Drum roll, we continue our top 10 cinema with 3rd place

3rd: Star Wars (7) The Force Awakens

top10cinema-starwars7

I can already see the fans crying foul over Michel who is ready to unleash the best of his jokes. A little step back in time, Star Wars 4 was released in 1977, and will see two sequels released until 1983. You are going to tell me, why Star Wars 4? Well, because a trilogy was not enough, my good Michel. Suddenly, George Lucas picks up his pencil, his yellow stabilo, and off we go again for a trilogy which retraces the life of Anakin Skywalker, an adorable child, who quickly becomes a smack-head, until he becomes the man who twisting my neck with just a wave of my hand, I named Darth Vader. We’re laughing, but we’re definitely fans of Star Wars, and without a doubt, the 8th, which comes out in less than 2 months (article written in mid-October 2017) will once again explode our top 10 cinemas.

2nd: Titanic

top10film-titanic

Who doesn’t love Titanic? Who hasn’t seen Titanic? TF1 has been recycling it every year for 6 years now, so those diehards who haven’t yet seen it are becoming increasingly rare. Small point TF1: ok it’s been 6 years since this magnificent film has been recycled, but we are still far from La Grande Vadrouille or even the Seventh Company (recycled for 30 years and no less good for all that). In short, all this to tell you that while Jack was served a very cold ice cube in the Atlantic Ocean, James Cameron was served his ice cube with a good Whiskey. The film is currently second in our top 10 cinema list with more than $2,180,000,000 in worldwide revenue. Yes, just that.

Unbearable suspense… We are reaching the end of our top 10 cinema. Who is first? A clue: cousin of the Smurfs

1st: Avatar

top10cinema-avatar

It’s the revolution. This film, widely criticized for its story, for some too simplistic, cannot be for its visuals and the revolution it brought with it: REAL 3D. This film made us dream for its beauty, who does not remember Neytiri and Jake running on lit vegetation, when night falls. Gorgeous. We can also applaud James Cameron, who not satisfied with already having first place with Titanic, directed Avatar just to recover the first 2 places. Be careful, one day (yes one day because this story is dragging out) Avatar 2, 3, 4 and more will appear in this ranking. We suspect our James of wanting to recover the other 8 places in the ranking, just to make us redo our entire article.

And there you have it, our ranking of the top 10 cinema is (already) finished. Don’t worry, there are plenty of other tops waiting for you, just below.
